You fly straight to Puerto Plata airport (POP)
on American Airlines, Continental or Jet Blue. There
are direct flights from Miami (1.5 hrs.)

share the day's adventures over a drink. Dominican raw sugar produces
smooth rum, Brugal, and the tobacco makes great cigars.
The Ron Chinolas
(rum & passion fruit juice), cuba libres and cervezas are
always flowing at Ono's Bar, Café Pitu and the newest spot
on the beach, Lax. You sit at Lax on hammock swings with tiki
torches, just steps from the crashing waves!
Each night,
a different beach bar hosts a party into the wee hours... Good
thing you don't have to be up early!
Comidas - Meals
Some
special dinners are included with your trip. We know locals who
have out-of-the-way restaurants where we will go fill up on gigantic
fresh camarones (shrimp) in garlic. Delicious! One night we'll
go to a little spot in the mountains and eat under the stars with
food served on banana leaves.
For other
meals, you can enjoy a fresh dinner at one of the inexpensive
open air restaurants (less than $15usd) on the beach. Or prepare
a meal in your apartment kitchen with the fresh avocados, pineapple
and other Dominican delights.
