Cabarete DR
Where to Stay

Your Guide

Home Page

Every night, Cabarete turns into
a fiesta paradise w/merengue music, dj's, dancing and revelry
with fellow travelers on the beach.

Come for the nightlife - stay for the adventurous days!

When Christopher Columbus first arrived in the DR, he claimed it was the most beautiful land the eyes of man had ever seen.

Cabarete... a little slice of Heaven for your holiday

Located on the North Coast of the DR, Cabarete is this perfect little beach town with the world's best windsurfing, kiteboarding and surfing. There aren't many tourists, no big hotels and nothing is built above the palm tree line to spoil the view. You will find cute little shops, restaurants and plenty of friendly Dominicans.

You fly straight to Puerto Plata airport (POP) on American Airlines, Continental or Jet Blue. There are direct flights from Miami (1.5 hrs.) and NY JFK (3 hrs.). Then it's an easy 23 minute scenic ride to Cabarete. We'll even send a guide to pick you up and give you an intro tour.

See DR map below. Call us or check out or, or call your travel agent for good airfares. For airfare into Puerto Plata, POP airport in the DR. Click below for best pricing/times.

Jet Blue flies direct fr. NY to STI Santiago airport, 1.5hrs fr. Cabarete. $60 taxi ride ea. way.

Fiestas - Nightlife
Cabarete beach turns into a hip international travelers' fiesta every night. Imagine being at the same cafes and bars you were at all day - but with only stars and moonlight on the ocean.

After a siesta, get ready for the evening fiesta with your fellow travelers to share the day's adventures over a drink. Dominican raw sugar produces smooth rum, Brugal, and the tobacco makes great cigars.

The Ron Chinolas (rum & passion fruit juice), cuba libres and cervezas are always flowing at Ono's Bar, Café Pitu and the newest spot on the beach, Lax. You sit at Lax on hammock swings with tiki torches, just steps from the crashing waves!

Each night, a different beach bar hosts a party into the wee hours... Good thing you don't have to be up early!

- Meals

Some special dinners are included with your trip. We know locals who have out-of-the-way restaurants where we will go fill up on gigantic fresh camarones (shrimp) in garlic. Delicious! One night we'll go to a little spot in the mountains and eat under the stars with food served on banana leaves.

For other meals, you can enjoy a fresh dinner at one of the inexpensive open air restaurants (less than $15usd) on the beach. Or prepare a meal in your apartment kitchen with the fresh avocados, pineapple and other Dominican delights.

People live simply here which is simply perfect for a vacation getaway. Ahh, life in the islands...
